This celtic cross is located in Kilfenora Co. Clare. Founded in the 12th Century the Doorty Cross shows the moderisation of the Irish Church. The history starts with it's burning by Murrough O'Brien in 1055 AD and it became bishopic in 1189 AD. Shows a bishop in high relief with winged creatures on either side and two figures below thrusting their croziers into a beast. Gifts from Island Turf Crafts are handmade using 5000 year-old peat from some of Europe's oldest boglands. The unique antique brown finish highlights every detail of the delicate ancient Celtic designs.
