Quinns Craftshop in times gone by

This is a view of the Quinns craftshop in days gone by. It has progressed much since then but still retains the sense of service - in its friendly welcome and helpful service.

It has an intriguing history - a brief glimpse of which is outlined below in the form of extracts taken from the Irish archives of 1910. These extracts detail snippets of the Craftshop's history during the period it acted as a Royal Irish Constabulary barracks

archive document from 1910 This is an excerpt from a report, written by a Mr. W. Salmond in December 1910 detailing the state of disrepair of the building, then R.I.C. Barracks in Ballyvaughan, now home to Quinns Craftshop.

It indicates that before the premises had been transformed into a military barracks, it had been used as a shop and there had also been a bakery attached. More on the History of Quinns Craftshop
